The fact is that between 80 to 85% of your abs targets and goals are achieved in the kitchen while the remainder in the gym. Keep in mind that what you eat will determine whether you reach your abs goal or fall short. Healthy eating tip: Instead of eating 3 full meals a day, try eating 6 to 7 smaller ones. Doing this will ensure two things. The first, that you do not snack on junk food during the day and the second, to speed up your body’s metabolism rate so that if can burn off carbohydrates and fat faster.
Fresh Fruit Smoothie
A great post workout snack that should be on everyone’s dieting meal plan. Just choose any fresh fruit like bananas, passion fruit, papaya, apples, pears, berries and throw them into a blender with some low fat or soy milk. Add a few ice cubes to really bring out the punch in the drink. This is one of my personal favorites.
Vegetable Juice
All you need is a whole lot of fresh seasoned vegetables and throw them in a juicer. Now for green leafy vegetables, the greener they are, the more healthy the vegetable. Despite the smell and taste, this is one of the healthiest meals out there. This could also replace your meal. Here is a suggestion: wash your vegetables the night before or some time before you decide to juice them and leave them to drip dry. This will ensure that all the water comes out of the vegetable and your juice is purely vegetables.
Apple and Spinach Salad
What you need is 2 tablespoons each of fresh lime and orange juice, 2 teaspoons each of Dijon mustard and honey, half a cup of freshly chopped red onion, 8 cups (8 ounces) of fresh baby spinach, 1 large cored and thinly sliced apple and a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Place in a small bowl, the juices, honey, mustard, salt and pepper. Whisk these ingredients together. You can now put the onions and spinach in a bigger bowl with the apple slices. Combine everything in the larger bowl and toss it. Extra tip: top with blue cheese.
